Multi-project
Manage repositories, multi-repository workspaces, and Scratch sessions from one desktop.
The desktop sidebar shows every registered project and its sessions. Add a repository as a separate project, or group a root and its child repositories in a workspace.
Add projects
Use Add project in the desktop app, or register an existing local repository:
tallpine project add --path /absolute/path/to/web --id web
tallpine project add --path /absolute/path/to/api --id api
tallpine project lstallpine project add requires a local path. It does not clone remote URLs. tallpine start only resolves and opens the desktop app; it does not register the current directory.
Workspace and Scratch projects
Register a parent directory containing direct child repositories as one workspace project:
tallpine project add --path /absolute/path/to/product --as-workspaceScratch projects use plain directories managed by Tallpine. For work without a project, run tallpine spawn --standalone --agent codex --name notes. Standalone sessions need an explicit agent and cannot use project, branch, issue, PR, or orchestrator options. Scratch projects do not support Git branches or PRs either.
Give each project its own roles
Open each project's settings and choose its worker, orchestrator, model, rules, setup, reviewers, and automatic review default. Select the global default session interface in Settings → General; override it per task. Project configuration is typed and independent; changing one project does not set global YAML defaults for the others.
Spawn in the right project
tallpine spawn --project api --name api-issue --issue 42 --mode chat
tallpine spawn --project web --name web-fix --prompt "Fix the header" --mode tuiWhen --project is omitted, Tallpine resolves TALLPINE_PROJECT_ID, the project of TALLPINE_SESSION_ID, then the closest registered project containing the current directory. It does not fall back to a sole Scratch project. Supplying the project explicitly is clearest in scripts.
Inspect across projects
The desktop sidebar and sessions board are the live multi-project view. From the CLI:
tallpine project ls
tallpine session ls
tallpine session ls --project api
tallpine session ls --project api --jsonTo check daemon health, use tallpine status. It does not list sessions.
Stop and clean up
Kill one session with tallpine session kill <session-id>. Use tallpine session cleanup --dry-run before reclaiming eligible terminated-session workspaces. Dirty worktrees are preserved.
tallpine stop stops the daemon and takes no project argument. Closing a view does not end a session. Use exit-agent and resume-agent to stop or restart its controller. Use kill and restore to end or relaunch the session.
Some detached terminal and Chat processes can survive a daemon restart. Reconnecting depends on the provider. See Dashboard for session controls.
Use mobile across projects
Connect Mobile exposes the same registered projects and session modes through the authenticated mobile listener. Mobile prefers Chat for new workers and orchestrators when a compatible harness is installed, while Terminal UI remains selectable.
