Codex
Built-in Terminal UI and native app-server Chat support for the user's Codex installation.
Tallpine uses the locally installed codex executable and Codex-owned authentication.
tallpine agent ls
tallpine spawn --project my-app --name codex-task --agent codex --mode chatInterfaces
- Terminal UI: runs the native Codex CLI in the session worktree.
- Chat: connects to Codex's native app-server protocol and persists the provider conversation identity with the Tallpine session.
Codex supports the same capability-gated Chat/Terminal UI handoff as Claude Code. The Tallpine session and worktree remain stable across a compatible handoff.
Tallpine performs bounded installation and authentication probes before spawn. Use --skip-agent-check only to bypass that advisory CLI preflight; daemon validation remains authoritative.
Accounts
Open Settings → Subscriptions to view the current Codex account, add another account through Codex's login terminal, or switch to a verified account. Tallpine uses the verified account name as the card label. Supported Codex builds also show plan and usage details.
Exactly one account is active for Tallpine Codex launches on this device. Switching updates and verifies the device's Codex credential; new Tallpine launches wait for the switch to finish.
Running Tallpine Codex sessions and reviewers are not switched. Existing turns continue best-effort, while newly launched controllers use the selected account. Resume or restart a session to relaunch its controller under that account.
Tallpine does not control how other Codex clients on this device use authentication, or how switching an account affects them. Tallpine never parses or exposes auth.json, and it does not scrape billing information. Sign out an account; you can delete it once it is inactive. Per-session account selection, rename, reorder, and in-place replacement are not available.
